TimePeace (‘TimePeace’, ‘our’, ‘we’, and ‘us’) is committed to respect the privacy of its users (‘you’) and has developed this Privacy Policy to allow you to understand the rules and practices with regard to the data we collect from you.

This Privacy Policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.  Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how We will treat it. By using TimePeace you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to change this Policy at any time, and if we do we will provide notice and ensure you consent to how we continue to use your personal data. If you do not accept and agree with our Policy, you must not access or use the App or make inquiries with us.



This Privacy Policy (together with our Terms of Use) applies to your use of (i) the TimePeace mobile application software found on the public Google Play and Apple iTunes store (‘App’), once you have downloaded a copy of the App onto your mobile telephone or, handheld device (each a ‘Device’); (ii) the TimePeace website, accessible at; and (iii) the TimePeace slack workspace and any related sites.

For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998, the data controller is TimePeace, a company limited by guarantee with company number 10644671 and registered office at Flat 3, 74 Dartmouth Park Hill, London, United Kingdom, N19 5HU.



‘Personal Data’ relates to you and would allow us to determine the actual identity of, and contact, you specifically.  ‘Sensitive Data’ includes information, comments or content (for example pictures, video, profile information) that you may provide and that may reveal your ethnic origin, nationality, religion, physical or mental health or condition and/or sexual orientation. By providing Sensitive Data to us, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of Sensitive Data as permitted by applicable privacy laws.

We may collect Personal Data, including Sensitive Data, and other information.

We will collect and process the following data about you:

  • Information you give us about you by filling in forms on the App, or by corresponding with us (for example, by e-mail, google forms, TypeForm or chat). This includes information you provide when you download and register to use the App (including first name, family name, date of birth, email address, username, password,  country of origin, location, bio-profile, general status as refugee/asylum seeker, confirmation that you have not been convicted of any crime), donate to TimePeace using the App or website (including payment card information), share data via the App's social media functions, enter a competition, promotion or survey, interact with other individuals, post information on your profile (including interests, skills, abilities, language, profile picture) and when you report a problem with the App or our website. If you contact us, we will keep a record of that correspondence.

  • You are given an option to register through your Facebook or Google account (your ‘Social Account’). If you do so, you authorise us to access certain Social Account information, such as your public Social Account profile (consistent with your privacy settings in your Social Account), your email address, gender, birthday, education history, relationship interests, current city, photos, personal description, interests, likes, friend list.

  • Geolocation Information. If you turn these features on, we may collect your device's geolocation data and save your device's coordinates to offer certain features to you. We may also use your device's geolocation information to personalise the App and make it easier for you to interact with other Users. You can control your location information settings on the Homepage, Explore and in Edit Profiles and switch them off if you really want to! Even if you have disabled location services, we may still determine your city, state, and country location based on your IP address (but not your exact location).

  • If you chat with other TimePeace users, you provide us the content of your chats, and

  • If you contact us with a customer service or other inquiry, you provide us with the content of that communication.

  • We collect technical information about your Device to understand how users use the App to improve your experience, such as your location of the App, IP address, your mobile identifier, details of your use of our App, including your visits to our website including, but not limited to traffic data and other communication data.

  • We are working closely with third parties (including, for example, partners, sub-contractors in technical and payment services, advertising networks, analytics providers, search information providers, credit reference agencies). We will notify you when we receive information about you from them and the purposes for which we intend to use that information.

  • When you install or uninstall the App, the App may contain a unique application number and when such App searches for automatic updates, that number and information about your installation, for example, the type of operating system, may be sent to us.

  • We may use mobile device IDs (the unique identifier assigned to a device by the manufacturer), or advertising IDs (for iOS 6 and later) to recognise you. We do this to store your preferences and track your use of our App. Unlike cookies, device IDs cannot be deleted but advertising IDs can be reset in in your iPhone settings. Ad companies also use device IDs or advertising IDs to track your use of the App, track the number of ads displayed, measure ad performance and display ads that are more relevant to you. Analytics companies use device IDs to track information about app usage.



We use information held about you in the following ways:

  • process your account information in order for you to create an account with TimePeace;

  • manage and administer your account;

  • provide the App to you including information, products and services you request from us through the App;

  • notify you of any changes to our App;

  • carry out online surveys and polls;

  • deal with any inquiries, correspondence, concerns or complaints you have sent to us;

  • otherwise communicate with you as a supporter or user regarding the use of our App;

  • operate and improve our App;

  • keep our App secure;

  • analyse and compile information on patterns of usage of our App. We may use pseudonymised information and data to improve the App and for TimePeace’s marketing purposes where you have provided express consent;

  • TimePeace may also sell or license pseudonymised and or anonymised data to third parties for marketing and research usage

  • provide you with information about our App that may interest you; and

  • process any payments or donations.



Like most Apps, we also use cookies to provide users an efficient experience in using the App.

A cookie is a small data file that is placed on your Device by your web browser.  Basically, it is a tool that stores information about App and website visits, recognises you and your preferences each time you visit, and ensures App functionality and enables us to provide the service which our users request.

A cookie file can contain information such as a user ID that the App uses to track the pages you have visited, but the only personal data a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie cannot read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. Some parts of the App use cookies to track user traffic patterns. TimePeace does this in order to determine the usefulness of the App information to our users and to see how effective our navigational structure is in helping users reach that information. TimePeace does not correlate this information with data about individual users, nor does it share this information or sell it to any third party. You may control and block the cookies used by the App by modifying the settings on your device. However, if you use your device settings to block all cookies you may not be able to access all or parts of our App.

We generally do not share your personal data with any third party. We may, however, do so in the following circumstances:

  • to our service providers and other contractors for the purposes of providing our service to you (for example, to assist TimePeace’s marketing and support platforms, and data storage);

  • to other users of TimePeace where you use our services or social media features to provide information to other users;

  • to resolve user disputes or inquiries; and

  • where we are legally obligated to disclose information to the government or third parties for the purposes of national security, law enforcement or other issues of public importance.

Except as stated above, we will not disclose your personal data to any third parties for any other purposes unless we have your consent or we otherwise legally have the right or obligation to do so.



How we protect your personal data: TimePeace has security measures in place to protect your personal data under our control. To help protect the personal data you transmit through the App, TimePeace uses industry-standard and secure server software that encrypts the information you input before it is sent to us. In addition, TimePeace uses standard industry practice to protect personal data against unauthorised access.

While TimePeace takes reasonable precautions against possible security breaches of its App, no app or internet transmission is completely secure and we cannot guarantee that unauthorised access, hacking, data loss, or other breaches will never occur. We are unable to guarantee the security of your personal data while it is being transmitted to our App and any transmission is at your own risk.  

How you can keep your personal data secure: you should take steps to keep your personal data safe (including your password) and to log out of your account after use. Where we have provided you, or you have chosen a password which enables you to access TimePeace’s App, you are responsible for keeping your password confidential. You must not share it with anyone or store it in a way that may allow a third party to access it. If that happens, please report it to TimePeace cannot be held responsible for your failure to keep your password secure.

You should update your password periodically to help reduce the risk of unauthorized access to your account with us. When you do, you should strengthen your password with the combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, punctuation and other symbols.



TimePeace uses hosting services whose servers may be located in a number of countries. The data that we collect from you will be transferred to, and stored by Amazon Web Services. It will also be processed by staff who work for us. These staff may be engaged in the provision of the services delivered through the App, the processing of your payment details for any donation(s) you may make, and the provision of support services.

By submitting your personal data, you expressly consent to the transfer, processing and storing of your personal data on servers. TimePeace will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.



The App may contain links to third party sites. Access to any other Internet site linked to this App is at the user’s own risk and TimePeace is not responsible for the accuracy or reliability of any information, data, opinions, advice or statements made on these sites. TimePeace provides these links merely as a convenience and the inclusion of such links does not imply an endorsement. If you provide any third party with your personal data we recommend that you read their privacy policies as TimePeace does not control how they use their information.

We currently use a number of third party platforms which include, but are not limited to Google, TypeForm, Mailchimp, Slack. Please refer to their privacy policy, data protection and terms & conditions directly.



We may also use your personal data to send you other information (such as newsletters and events) from TimePeace, provided that, where required, you have provided us with your consent to receive such  communications by way of expressly opting in.

You may at any time unsubscribe by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of each  communication or by sending an email to

You may be invited to receive information from TimePeace’s partners and, provided you have given your consent, you may receive such communications from our partners. These offers from other charities or partners may require you to provide information to them if you choose to accept their offers. You should remember that these offers from other charities or partners  are made by them and not by TimePeace. You should always be sure to read their separate terms of service and privacy policies before providing any information to them so that you can understand their intended uses for your information.

From time to time, we may also collect information via online surveys or polls. Participation in these surveys or polls is entirely voluntary and you may easily decline to participate.

Please note that where you opt out of receiving these communications, we may still send you certain communications relating to your use of the App, such as service announcements, notices about new features or information on the App, administrative messages and communications regarding your account.

If you need to update your information you can do this through the App. If you are unable to access that information for any reason, you can notify us of any changes to (or errors in) your information and we will update it for you if you submit a written request for such changes to the customer service email set out in the contact information below. In order for us to serve you best, please provide your name, phone number, mailing address, and email address when contacting us.  

Individuals are also entitled to request for the following rights to be exercised:

  • that we rectify any inaccuracies to your personal data or where it is incomplete;

  • that we erase your personal data;

  • access personal data about themselves by asking for a copy of the personal data TimePeace holds about them;

  • for your personal data to be received in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to have it transmitted to another controller; and

  • to demand TimePeace to cease processing of your personal data, or to refrain from processing your personal data in a particular way.
